Pros

As part of your benefits/salary you get a managers vehicle. You can take anything from an SUV down to a compact. That is a great benefit to have as you save on vehicle expenses.

Cons

Management is 100% horrible. In Denver, upper management would not show there faces if the place was on fire. They show no support to the Location Managers and have no idea what it is to lead a team. Between, Gemba walks, Yellow Belt projects, coaching's and everyday NPS failures, Location Managers work double and lose out on bonuses due to the lack of support. Facing customers daily with complaints is a very hard and emotional drainer. This company tries hard to do it the Toyota way and fails to delivery a friendly and comfortable work enviornment. Poorly operated and sadly, the benefits are terrible. They make it near impossible to reach bonus numbers and the CEO is simply not in touch with it's workforce, the little guy bringing in all the revenue.

Advice to Management

Wise up. Your salary is based on what those employees bring in that you look to fire regularly. Your city managers make all the difference and you have no idea what they will do to reach the top. Favoritism runs wild in your offices and you turn a blind eye to the ones busting day in and day out.

I have been working at Hertz full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Plenty of advance opportunities.
Awesome benefits/perks at the management level
Pushes your mind to the limit
No capped bonuses, (bring in as much business as you can, and reap the benefits!)
Hertz rental fleet becoming more exciting (Dream Cars, Prestige Cars, HOD)
New HQ office in SW Florida!!

** For those who are reading all the negative reviews, this one is directed to you. A career with Hertz, like any other company is what you make of it. If you are not a "go-getter", not competitive and don't have the stamina to deal with what the business specific to your surrounding area demands; then this is not the career for you.

Do not expect to sit at a desk, simply renting cars and consider it "light duty" Yes, we're washing cars, dealing with customer complaints, picking up/dropping off and deliver vehicles but it is the nature of the beast.

Many people come in and out of doors because they do not understand the business and what it entails; possibly because we may not be communicating this correctly to any perspective new hires.

If you're looking for a company that will change your career, challenge you and push you to the limit and do things you never thought possible, while getting proper compensation for it, then this is where it is at!

    Cons

Trying to get upper mgmt to understand what is going on in the frontline
Getting people to change, (sink or swim as far as adaptibility)
Managers and employees are pushed to work long hours when staffing levels are not up to par

    Advice to Management

    Stay innovative
    Promote your talent
Encourage those who aren't cutting it to improve instead of reprimand
