Pros

* Great people
* Great benefits
* Good annual bonus structure
* Management promotes good work/life balance

Cons

* Promotions are very political
* Raises are based on budget and promotions don't guarentee bigger raise
* Communication between group/divisions is rare which means duplication of work is done and hard for IT to support

Advice to Management

Create a stronger structure so that business needs are top priority and not just the people with enough political weight get what they want when they want it.

    Pros

    The insurance benefit starts on day one. Which is good because the stress and long hours keep you sick. Other than that there really are no pro's.

    Cons

    With staffing hour reductions the manager must plan to work at least 12 hours a day or more. Ther is no support from district managers unless you are on target to receive a company visit. Then you will work non stop to fix every thing and be allowed to spend money for supplies and materials to bring things up to standards. The customers even comment that someone important must be comming.

    Advice to Management

    Give support to store management. Give needed payroll hours so employees are not left in buildings alone. Stay focused on the important issues in retail and do not change directions each month. Bring back the HESS trucks and drivers. They symbolized the company's commitment to quality and reinforced its values.

    Pros

    Many of the workers do a good job at completing tasks together. If you let management know you are interested in moving up the ladder, they will work with you to get you where you want to be.

    Cons

    As with any job, you have the "gossip mongrols" as well as lack of initiative with employees. Sometimes management doesn't do a great job of nipping the problem in the bud, and this can create even more conflict with employees.

    Advice to Management

    Do you best to curtail problems as they arise. Because if you don't, you will have some bitter employees. I've witnessed this myself in my own store.
