    Pros

*A great group of professional people make up HP. They have an overwhelming desire to accomplish any task at hand. This is the true strength of HP.

    Cons

*Over time there has been a continuous erosion of employee benefits, coupled with a higher cost for the benefits that remain.

*Change is the constant. I have lost track of the number of re-orgs that I have been through. This does not create faith in management. Do they really have a plan? Reacting to market needs is one thing, but perpetual reaction is another.

*Layoffs and re-orgs have created an environment in which everyone is tasked with too many duties to perform the quality of work that they expect of themselves. This is very disheartening.

*All aspects of our IT systems are cumbersome to use. We do not succeed because of them, we suceded in-spite of them. A lot of time is expended trying to work around the shortcomings of our IT.

    Advice to Management

    *Cleanup the IT systems
    *Stop the erosion of benefits
*Get your act together. Perpetual change serves no one.

    Pros

    Flexibility of working at home

    Cons

No budget for travel. Virtual teams are not allowed to meet together, not even once a year.

Performance review process is terrible. HP has forced rankings but won't admit this to employees. How bonus is paid in terms of % tied to company/business unit performance and % tied to individual performance is shrouded in mystery. Bonus is paid once a year and if you work all year and leave before it is paid out, HP will not give you a single dime of it.

    Advice to Management

Fire Leo. The man is flat out incompetent. We've gone from fiasco to the next under his reign.
