Pros

As a large company their benefit offerings are good. If you are willing to move a lot your opportunities are greater.

Cons

More bureaucracy than the federal government. Everything is self serivce, you have to wade through tons of policies and procedures to try to get any questions answered as an employee! On a work level it is even worse, right hand doesn't know what left hand is doing. And just when you are familiar with the right answers, policy will change again. By far the cheapest company I have ever seen in the investments they make in regard to the tools and software systems you have to deal with on a daily basis.

Advice to Management

HP systems are beyond inadequate and cost the company an enormous amount of employee downtime due to systems not working. On the consumer side you could improve service drastically if management would actually make decisions based on what customer service reports and what the customer actually complains they don't like- like outsourcing!

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Interesting technologies that span a wide range of consumer and commercial segments. Hard-working, honest, ethical people. Some opportunity for travel. Excellent management in certain divisions.

    Cons

Stifling bureaucracy. Over siloed functional groups. Poor collaboration. People more interested in saving their job instead of doing it. Terrible HR group - provides little training or support. Career development executed poorly or neglected by management.

    Advice to Management

Need more systems to streamline work and reduce manual "spreadsheeting". Implement clearer avenues for overseas assignments and cross-functional training. Hire people with curiosity and a desire to continuously improve.

    Advice to Management

    None it doesn't matter.
