Pros

Senior management has succeeded in turning the company around and taking concrete steps to flourish. Excellent, highly-skilled employees.

Cons

Layoffs. Cuts in benefits and salaries.

Advice to Management

Keep making the hard decisions needed to survive, but please work with hiring managers to redeploy good employees who have been impacted by position eliminations. I don't think that is really happening.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Great products.. glad to be working with good products. Overall benefits when I first started were good in comparison to our competitors

    Cons

Less opportunities for career advancement.. inability to work on exciting ideas sometime due to budget cuts, decision from manager etc. Not a big fan of cost-cutting especially budget cuts for petty things like donuts on wednesday or a quarterly outing. I hope when the economy things get back to normal but with Hurd, you never know. Now with paycuts in place, will the lost income come back? Sure, at this stage its better than being listed on WFR but in the long-term??

    Advice to Management

Cost-cutting is not a long term solution

    Pros

They are a strong company with a lot of potential. The leadership seems to be aware of where the market is headed and are truly trying to move the company in the right direction. The company leadership, thru voice of the workforce surveys, tries each year to discover what may be causing discontent among the employees and then tries to improve in those areas.

    Cons

Some of the middle management is very inexperienced at managment of people. They seem to have come from managing technology and are not able to transfer that to managing people. The company seems to be struggling with advancement pathways for IT personnel, but they are truly trying to address this issue.

    Advice to Management

Don't forget the little people, because without us there is no company for you to lead.
