"Best of HP gone; what happens when there is no more cost cutting and no go forward strategy?"

    Pros

Originally it was the pride and commitment I saw among the other employees to be a part of a company rich in tradition, strong in leadership and uniquely able to engage their employees in the success of the company. The HP Way was about "family" but it was also about excelling in business. You felt you could learn and develop your career there while contributing to the company's success. Not true any longer. Now very much about the individual and what you can do for senior management versus what is in the best interest of the company.

    Cons

Management's lack of respect for the employee. This appears in everything from their attitude to how they handle compensation and bonuses. While most of the 10-12 top leaders received upwards of $10 million last year in compensation, most employees haven't received a raise in 3-5 years and if you received a bonus last year it was most likely less than 2%. This in a year when HP had record profits.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Hurd is so afraid of his employees' feedback that he has taken to holding "All Employee Meetings" in a closed studio with no live employees or limiting attendence to less than 100 employees and even then he won't take questions from the audience (only questions drafted by his handlers). Other senior leaders are equally "hiding" from their employees. If the "decisions" are so bad for employees that leadership is afraid to face their employees, then maybe the decisions need to be looked at again.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

As management reminds us, "hey, at least you've got a job". Plus, I didn't have to get a digital badge to provide this feedback.

    Cons

Watching a once GREAT successful company that valued & treated their employees well go the way of just another large corporation.

    Advice to Management

Getting rich off the backs of the employees will only take you so far.
