I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Good company and products; not a lot of risk taking but the core business is solid. Great people to work with; well organized processes and execution of product launches and supply chain

Cons

morale isn't great but there are a lot of positives that you don't see until on the outside

not much upward mobility due to lack of growth - no clear path to revenue growth and without revenue growth not likely to see much increase in job growth; not much movement up or out so could be waiting a long time for advancement

    I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time

    Pros

The people are great. The work is challenging. The benefits package is competitive, and they offer excellent vacation and holiday benefits.

    Cons

Compensation is not competitive with the current market. The workload is demanding with unrealistic expectations. Limited opportunities to advance without relocation. Constant restructuring of the organization, management teams and basic human resources functions. Everything is in a constant state of flux to the detriment of the company and its employees.

    Advice to Management

To corporate management - STOP acquiring new companies until you can figure out how to fix the ones you’ve broken. STOP messing with what works. Your efforts to 'fix' things that aren't broken are actually breaking them and driving away the most knowledgeable and talented people.

    I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Solid Brand, well known, storied co.
    Broad account base

    Cons

    Strategy keeps changing
Missed the next wave of IT innovation
    Poor operational execution
Commoditized IT provider w/o the cost structure to profitably execute

    Advice to Management

Succession of CEO's has demonstrated, too big to lead.
    Break it up
