Neutral Outlook
No opinion of CEO

I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Work with little or no management in put, if willing to move opportunities to grow and move up and around the country. Online training but no classes most of the time.

Cons

No pay raises in last two years because of current cost cutting. Management to busy doing reports to focus on workers excepts for emergencies. It is just another big company with good benefits and good place to work. No longer exceptional.

HP still searching for it market.
Turnover in company is high due to mergers.

Find your Market ! stay the course of no new mergers until HP can manage what it has.

I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Work from home, Great People

    Cons

Revolving Door Senior Leadership, Contentious Management System that encourages employees to fight each other for limited internal funding and accolades, pay cuts, 10% of US, EMEA and Japan resources moved to low cost countries every year, firing another 10%, massive layoffs, massive cuts in R&D all have left product lines weak and partners thinking HP is not reliable or viable.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Not just the once a year Voice of the Workplace, I mean listen to their ideas and where things are broken. How can HP run a company plan that changes every six weeks with cuts in one area after another. Some employees are working 16 hour days week after week so HP Leadership can pat themselves on the back about how well offshoring cost savings are working out. Ask any employee at HP about "Calibration" as the acid test of how things are going. Ask about 'Work Life Balance" if you want to dig deeper.
