I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefit package including partner benefits.

    Cons

HP will lay anyone off in a second. The company is too big to care about it's people.

    I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great compensation. Work in an awesome scale. Solve problems you won't see anywhere else. Work-life balance issues mostly well handled.

    Cons

The whole huge organization is very siloed. Even their silos have silos. Constant upper management turnover. 10 year old acquisitions still haven't completely integrated. Many people just marking time trying to keep their paycheck.

    Advice to Management

All the upheaval and insecurity is making your people crazy. When did "management by walking around" become "management by blaming someone else"?
