I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Great place for experience and training. Will open many doors and constant networking with this job. Great mentors and excellent workplace.Get a degree and apply within the same year or before graduation. Don't worry they don't expect you to know everything. Be prompt and professional.

Cons

Hard work and tough schedule but the pay makes up for everything. Come ready to learn and work. Ask questions and be detail.

Advice to Management

Expand training, stress-less, and keep up the great turnover.

I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The co-workers are great, and facilities are ok

    Cons

Neopotism needed for promotion, individual without required BA or BS are promoted to supervisor after less that 2 monts as a team lead, where the team lead positions where not open to apply for. Clicks are prodominent, you are not rewarded for giving 100 % back to the click. no guidance or mentoring form management...if you are turned down they suggest asking the management team for advice...back to square one. Low pay for the error, lower raises (In the cents).

    Advice to Management

You need to nip this in the bud, before all the excellent sharp workers leave HP to go to other companies. There are serious HP/HR regs ignored here

I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are lots of opportunity to grow and move up within the company. The pay is decent. Fortune 500 company.

    Cons

Leadership Team changes their strategy to often which normally leads to WFR's (layoffs). This has been consistent year after year for every year I've been employed, sometimes these changes last less than six months.

    Advice to Management

Leadership Team needs to change. Make a plan and stick with it, follow it through and make it work. If it was good enough at the time it was enforced/implemented, why did it change less than six months later? Market trends and Organization realignment are weak answers and are not always correct.
