Pros

 Coordinated and drove to resolution Third-Level Support HP ProCurve software/networking issues for existing customers.
 Entailed risk assessment and the management of bug tracking, assigning issues to developers and third parties, scheduling of system tests, delivery of code patches and new releases, and allocating lab resources for new builds.
 Designed and implemented interoperability and stress test suites for new HP ProCurve switches.
 Responsible for setup of test environment including debugging hardware and software issues using advanced technical and troubleshooting skills, experiment execution, data collection and written reporting of results to marketing, peers and management.
 Developed and maintained Current Product Engineer Website using HTML on HP-UX 10.20 UNIX.

Cons

Old boys Network. Could not get in with the old timers, difficult to move up. etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc

    Opportunity to grow and develop is positive.

    Cons

    New college hires don't always get good mentoring. If not proactive in seeking advice or asking for help & direction, will be setup to fail.

    Advice to Management

    Revisit the Company Culture Bill and Dave built and HP would be on top of the world as the best company to work for, which would translate to great products, service and profit.

    Pros

    A lot of freedom with shift options
    A fair balance of work and personal time
    Very difficult to get let go due to incompetence
    A lot of on the job training opportunities

    Cons

    Pay is not below competitive
    Promotionare based upon who you know
    Managers tend to hide behind policies instead of taking care of their employees
    Very easy to get hired under qualified
