No opinion of CEO

Pros

Great name recognition - the company was a great starting point. There were a lot of people that had spent their entire working life there.

Cons

Sometimes it was too big - too many layers of management at times made it tedious to get some projects completed.

Advice to Management

So far things are too big to change quickly without possibly 'breaking' a lot of longstanding ingrained policies and procedures.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Flexibility, telecommuting, internal job hopping oppotunities

    Cons

HP does not focus enough on employee retention and treating their greatest assets like they should. Raises and bonuses are sub-standard for the industry and other normal perks do not exist.

    Advice to Management

Stop cutting employee benefits, salaries, and perks. Start using some of the fundamental management strategies that every management textbook ever written includes. If you stay on your current path, you will end up with an unmotivated, mediocre workforce.
