Pros

I felt that I was well compensated. I enjoyed the sense of team. I thought that the caliber of employee was very high.

Cons

Too politcal. Middle level management was not willing to take risks. The culture does not support innovation. HP is slow to market with leading technology.

Advice to Management

Take chances. Create an entrepenuerial culture. Too many processes are required to get anything done with hamstrings innovation. Be less focused on the analytics and more focused on the market.

    Pros

Smart CEO who's assembled a great portfolio of enterprise solutions lead by a deep and wide management bench - highly demanding, but highly rewarding.

    Cons

One of the largest companies of its kind provides great strength, but can become frustrating when accountabilities are ambiguous.

    Advice to Management

Customers see the potential, empower people to make it happen.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Decent benefits package, good company for breaking into the industry, overall good working environment, quality of engineers at the company is very high

    Cons

Low salaries in comparison to the industry standard, management tends to value experience over performance, HP has become a bottom line company rather than an innovative company, where schedule is the only driving force, employee benefits are routinely trimmed back

    Advice to Management

Move back towards promoting innovation. HP is losing customers due to a lack of competitive products. This has stemmed from continued cost cutting measures making it nearly impossible to continue to produce high quality and innovative products. Instead, we are only producing the same thing repackaged over and over again. This will come back to haunt us at some point in the future.
