Disapproves of CEO

Pros

Geographical location was one of the reasons.

Cons

Staff unprofessional. Staff create an environment that puts license at risk and management allows and also creates certain monsters itself. HPRHS is not the same company when I was hired.

Raises are not discussed and pushed back in time.

Advice to Management

For management to be fair and unbiased. You are the company you keep. Stop retaining employees that sabotage the company.

I worked at High Point Regional Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Coworkers and some clinical staff, pay

    Cons

Inability of management in Safety and Security to comprehend the need to train and equip Security with more than a uniform, High Point is gripped by a large Heroin epidemic and violent crime in the area is on the rise. Add to that the presence of a behavioral health dept that may house violent individuals who attack staff and other patients, be prepared to keep your own safety in mind as the Hospital has become overly dependent on the High Point Police to handle matters that could easily be handled by a properly trained and certified security dept.( More training than CPI, use of batons and OC Gel training) etc...Very POOR tactical skills. REMEMBER! the security officers (depending of which ones) will always arrive to handle trouble before the police because they are on site,24/7, the police have to be called and may take 3 to 5 minutes..A lot can happen in that time.

    Advice to Management

Follow the lead of the other UNC Hospital security departments...Just because you hire retired law enforcement officers does NOT mean they know how to be proper SECURITY OFFICERS! They fall back on what they know...and those types dont know that protecting the company from liability is our main goal, followed by customer service, and if necessary, dealing with elements that would disrupt the peace and care of patients and staff...Management had good people but failed to utilize their knowledge and skills(based of jealousy and fear?) to improve the department.
