Pros

Collaborative, intelligent, hardworking but within reason! Definitely the best balance of challenge and life outside of work I've ever had!

Cons

After going public the purse strings are getting tighter.

I have been working at Hilton full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits and paid time off, upper management appears to care about how the employees. The company is always striving for higher customer satisfaction. The company continues to grow, especially internationally. It is very normal for the company to have "random pizza day" or some other type of specialized snacks (smoothies, ice cream, or craft popsicles). The company wants you to continually improve yourself with Personal Development Plans, but it is difficult to get time to pursue those plans.

    Cons

Lower level management doesn't appear to care if everyone is putting for the most effort, allowing many to do the minimum to get by. Too many people have been in the same entry level positions (10-20 yrs) and still burden other departments with inquiries they should know. Can be tough to move around in the company. Only a few departments are allowed to work from home full time or on a once a week basis. It takes FOREVER to get any type of system updates, sometimes 3-5 years and vital systems/programs seem to crash regularly and IT or the systems engineers don't know why.
Compensation is rather low when we can see the impact we have on revenue.

    Advice to Management

Invest in systems and IT architecture! 3-5 years for updates is downright ridiculous. Implement a HR policy that keeps employees from sitting in one position for more than 5-7 years so they can become more rounded in the company. Create a leadership development process that can be applied to or employees can be invited to which would be mandatory for anyone in a supervisory role.

    Pros

Lots of hours free food pleanty of breaks and great benefits

    Cons

No work life balance...have to work six days several differant weeks..management plays favorites...management spends a lot of time in their offices...management is clueless to what it takes to get the job done...NO help when busy, you have to work thebuffets dini g room and room service its a 300 room hotel which means you get blasted when busy

    Advice to Management

Try hiring employees who can cook..wait tables...whatever just hire industry people not a wanna be manager or some guy wanting to be a mailman..and jesus stop using temp services those people are worthless
