    Pros

Restaurant in the Doubletree offered a lot of hours and usually made good tips from guests. Good benefits for working for Hilton, discounts on rooms around the country. Opportunities to cross-train to do other jobs in food and beverage.

    Cons

I worked at a Hilton Garden Inn where the management was terrible and they took the service charge tips from room service for themselves. They wanted you to set up for banquets while only being payed on server wage. There are a lot of idiots that these hotels will hire that are very difficult to work with and management does not care.

    Advice to Management

Take a more active approach to learning what is going well and what needs to be changed in the restaurants. Actually help out in the restaurant and don't be lazy doing nothing.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

While many outstanding employees "resigned" after the Blackstone acquisition, there are still quite a few terrific people here - the "old" regime brand management team that is still in place are great leaders who can take the company where it needs to go, despite the obstacles that senior management puts in the way. The company is very forward-thinking, especially in these bad economic times.

    Cons

Since the acquisition by Blackstone, the company has lost so many good people. And, the new senior leadership doesn't seem to care about any impact on existing employees nor do they put forth a sincere effort at making this a good place to work where people can be proud. It'll be interesting to see what happens after the probable IPO happens sometime in 2011 or 2012.

    Advice to Management

Although it's impossible to teach someone how to care, it would be nice to see the senior management team at least show some effort toward caring about the people who work for them. People, not money, are a company's greatest asset!
