I have been working at Hitachi Consulting full-time

Pros

good pay, policy and work culture. management is reachable and feel like home atmosphere.
Practice is good and many extra curricular activities are there.

Cons

less project, less onsite opportunities. 3 months notice period and there is no defined process of work. You have to accomplish of your own. Risk is there if you are in bench.

Advice to Management

not now.

I have been working at Hitachi Consulting full-time

    Pros

Leadership COre still has my confidence, but it's getting harder to maintain any sense of order or productivity in day to day actual work.

    Cons

Disjointed - no direction or timely help on functional changes that have occurred in almost all systems. The M&A Dept. really needs to do a better job of vetting out all the issues when these acquisitions are integrated rather than simply dumping the problem on the Internal Depts who have no insight into the what, when and why.

    Advice to Management

Highly unlikely in frenzied approach to acquire more and more companies, but consider the enormous strain on the already thin skeleton crews in these internal depts. I find it troubling that qualified/skilled resources are laid off with no regard for other depts that are overloaded and could actually put the resources to good use.

I worked at Hitachi Consulting full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    (i) Flexible work timings
(ii) Fun activities at work if you are interested in games and stuff like that

    Cons

    (i) No transparency in appraisals .. if you are rubbing shoulders with your manager you get good rating otherwise they don't even justify your rating.
(ii) Their billing rates are relatively high when compared to their competitors hence loosing existing and new projects.
(iii) Most of the managers are at level zero on technical grounds , it takes hell lot to make them understand the issues.
(iv) Practice of firing if there are no new projects.

    Advice to Management

    Change lower and mid-level management.
