Pros

The people I work with are great. The benefits are good and overall they won't make you work too hard. If you are married or have a family they are extremely accomodating.

Cons

You will now have to travel close to 100% of the time. There is not a lot of opportunity for advancement. if you are one of the lucky few to get a promotion you will be disappointed by the meager salary increases.

Advice to Management

The reorganization is not benefitting anyone but senior management. I've been with the company for a few years and frankly it's hard to drink the kool-aid anymore. I don't see a future for myself here long term.

    Pros

There is a good mix of individuals working here. There are some bright spots, and some dimly lit bulbs that continue to hold onto a job. The local leadership is very attentive, but seem to have there hands tied when it comes to actioning items of concern from eployees.

    Cons

Senior management out of touch with workers. Lots of projects under bid to beat competition putting undue stress on employees to ghost hours or to deliver sub standard work in lieu of having enough time to do the job right. Compensation is not where it needs to be in order to retain talented individuals.

    Advice to Management

Reevaluate the salary bands. If you look at the other firms that are trying to take your employees, you will see that their total compensation packages are much better than yours. Stop telling us that we are in line with the rest of the industry when we have resources like Glassdoor.com to verify that we are not.

Pay attention to your employees. If you continue to underbid projects just to "win" the work, you will "lose" in the long run. You are burning them out forcing them to ghost hours and forego PTO hours just to meet your unrealistic timelines. Perhaps you have been out of the trenches for too long to remember who makes this company successful, and the amount of work they produce for you.

"Transition to national solution practice is not going well"

    Pros

Excellent opportunities to work on high profile clients, just not high profile projects. Excellent opportunities to work with and mentor junior level resources

    Cons

The transition from a local, geographically focused practice to a national solution focused practice is not going very well and there is a great deal of frustration. Senior level management tends to be ok - but not really supportive of their teams. The mentality is quickly becoming a much more 'mercenarial' than previously

    Advice to Management

Be more up front on the transition to a national solution model and implications. Metrics are not incenting personnel to collaborate - rather, the focus on high utilization (87% for managers), project role margin, and low management fees incents S/AM's to play it safe and 'sell' themselves long term to staff aug roles and not take a chance on large implementations that have a lower chance of success. Managers are being made to work extensively on these proposals because VP's do not have the bandwidth - but Managers are being measured on high utilization and low managed fees - perfect for people to 'play it safe'
