I have been working at Hobby Lobby full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

pay and raises given good

Cons

no set schedule, long hours and not enough breaks given, won't let you take vacation during the holidays.

Advice to Management

need to make out the schedules for 3 weeks at a time so people can plan things around their schedules.need to up date the way the freight is handled.and improve the insurance, for such a big company the insurance is not good at all.

I have been working at Hobby Lobby full-time

    Pros

    Creatively fulfilling most weeks.
Growing department, new positions being created, great opportunities.
Social environment, team is great at working together/giving helpful feedback
    Overtime

    Cons

Some crafters are skillful, but don't master the "Hobby Lobby" style within 1-3 months. There is a high turnover among this group.
Communication seems poor or secretive concerning minor things.
    Overtime

    Advice to Management

Communication won't hurt anyone. The atmosphere sometimes seems secretive for no good reason.

I worked at Hobby Lobby part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Would be a generally easy job once you get the hang of it after awhile, pay is higher than minimum wage in the area. Set or flexible scheduling. Off on Sundays.

    Cons

The people I worked with were very strict about every little thing, anytime I asked questions I was responded to in a rude manner, price checks could take up to 20 minutes easily. The cash registers were touch screen but you had to manually put in everything by department, there is no scanning items. Had to memorize sales ad every week. Benefits is for full time only. Manager played favorites. I can imagine this job could be a lot better at other locations.

    Advice to Management

    Smile once in awhile.
