I have been working at Holiday Retirement full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Wonderful residents, large company with industry stability

Cons

A lot of management turnover. Not enough consideration given to hourly employees who work directly with residents.

Advice to Management

Poll, commumicate with and listen to those employees who have been with the company for more than 5 years. We have a lot of perspective to share.

I worked at Holiday Retirement full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Residents humor and life stories.

    Cons

Lead Managers make decision without input for other team members. Managers have to dress professional and be ready to serve food, unclog toilets, clean up blood, vomit or diaper spills, Telemarketing means making early morning and late evening calls. . Free meals are the left over after the residents have finished. Express training then no follow up. Rent hikes create a high turn over with Residents.

    Advice to Management

Work one day a year work as a manager.

I have been working at Holiday Retirement part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A few of the residents help you get through the day, with there humor, others are rude and racist.

    Cons

The managers (Wife & Husband), consistently tag team the servers staff. The who staff is not even over the age of 21. The servers are treated like crap on a daily basis. The servers are also forced to clock out at, and continue to work without pay.

    Advice to Management

Hire Someone who knows what they are doing. When it comes to being a server, its more than just serving food, the managers cant even do our job, let alone there own.
