I worked at Holiday Retirement full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

They have very good detailed systems for operations. Even though pay is not great you can save a lot because you have no time to spend it and all other items are paid for.

Cons

Regional manager was not very good and the pressure for occupancy is relentless. You could be loved by residents, be a great leader of staff and property but if you don't shine in marketing and sales your days are numbered.

Advice to Management

Read these comments made from various levels of the organization over a long period of time and ask yourselfs what do we need to do to improve the culture and health of this slowly deteriorating business. Its a top down management problem.

I have been working at Holiday Retirement full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Residents are wonderful, unfortunately the employees can't provide them what they deserve as they are way over worked, under-paid and are treated like slave labor.

    Cons

Holiday Retirement Corp has re-iniaited slavery in all that work below Regional Heads. What a shame.

    Advice to Management

Spend some floor time with the Seniors who pay your bills and put big profits in your pockets.

I worked at Holiday Retirement full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The residents and staff members are the only positive reason for working and being a part of holiday(can't even put a capital in holiday any more) so sad.

    Cons

There is no support above community level. Employees and Residents are only a number to all above community level. If a resident passes, company could care less, get the apt "RENTED" but get more $$$ for the empty apt than you were getting. Same with employees, you can be replaced, and it will not cost as much to replace you.:(

    Advice to Management

They will not listen, so I will not waste the time nor space.
