    Pros

Straight forward regarding expectations and job demands no hidden agenda. Highly professional and easy to sell a product which sells itself. Travel and people.

    Cons

None that were not well laid out or expected on hire. It is a unique job that requires somewhat unique people to staff it. Part time sales and part time social.

    Advice to Management

Don't allow the organization to grow fragmented as the size increases exponentially.

I have been working at Holiday Retirement full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Providing a quality housing product for the growing retirement population at the surface sounds like a straight forward business model, however, like most things the devil is in the details. They have amazing opportunities for growth and the long term numbers appear to be in the company's favor. Some positions are paid competitively while others are just marginal.

    Cons

All the best laid plans are undermined by the constant turnover both at all levels of the company. There is massive turnover in community sales and manager positions and mid to senior level management get changed out just when everyone was getting adjusted from the last shake up. Home office has had a noticeable increase in turnover and a souring of morale. More and more cars are in the parking lot well after 6pm many nights and many more just work from home after that.

All senior management seems to be too focused on increasing revenues at any cost and the residents are definitely noticing as well as the employee base. Reputation for this company as an employer has gone down very dramatically in the past few years.

    Advice to Management

Don't just give lip service to the Holiday Touch for residents. They DO see the dramatic shift from a people caring company to a profit caring company. Quality of meals has diminished, overall resident satisfaction is down, and many residents laugh at the idea that they would be asked to refer someone else to live in our communities. They are the ones you really have to please. By treating your employees with respect and with reasonable work loads, your residents/customers will be much better taken care of and the long term health of the company will be preserved. Banking on an endless supply of fresh retirees to float this boat may back fire horribly if our brand is so completely tainted, economic issues not withstanding.
