    I worked at Hollander Sleep Products (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Hollander is a growing company focused on development of its employees. Great for entry level administrative employees looking to learn and develop skills.

    Cons

    The pay out to manufacturing employees is very low and not competitive. The employees felt overworked and underpaid for the type of work environment.

    Advice to Management

    Executive level management needs to be more involved to fully understand the needs of individual plants in order to see results in production needs.

    I have been working at Hollander Sleep Products full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Backed by private equity firm so they have money to spend to increase employee salaries and benefits as well as take care of people.

    Cons

    Doesn't use money from equity business to take care of employees due to their hyper focus on the bottom line and getting product out the door.

    Doesn't give pay increases to people when others leave the team and the people left have to take on their workloads.

    Disorganized and not willing to be open about the future goals of the company.

    Run by the classic style businessman that is focused on growth and profits over the well-being of employees and the advancement of said employees.

    Advice to Management

    Look at companies like Starbucks, Amazon, and Facebook. They treat their people with dignity and value them as individual hardworking assets and their returns from their people are recognizable in the form of low turnover, increased productivity, increased work ethic and increased overall company value. Your classic management style is outdated and needs to change if you want to be more than a titan in the industry.
