Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Hollister Incorporated full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Solid business for the next 10 years. No real future after that - one trick pony (Ostomy products) and anemic innovation capability. All the CEO cares about is the Ostomy business while he "pretends" to invest his time and support in the other businesses.

Cons

More political of a culture than Washington DC. Leadership that only cares about their own tenure and financial rewards. All else is lip service. They keep people in line with financial rewards for obedience, tenure and political connections (not performance!).

Advice to Management

Fire George Maliekel. He outright lies to employees and the Board of Directors. He misrepresents himself to all. A CEO that sets people up for failure. Uses his position to get information about meetings early, supports you one-on-one and then in the public forum he acts as though he's never heard of your proposal. An evil man!!

    Pros

Been around for a very long time with a great story to tell. HolliShares company offers are a very nice perk.

    Cons

If management does not like you, you will be pushed out. Products lack innovation and they have been very late in the game with numerous product launches.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Do research on some of the newly hired managers, because half of them are not qualified to be a manager which reflects badly on this company. If reps are not hitting their numbers, take into consideration that the products are not that great and that may be the problem.

    Cons

Inner circle of people that are over valued. There is no potential for growth and advancement unless you are part of the inner circle.

Higher management doesn't have any knowledge on IT

    Very high in politics.
