I worked at Hollywood Casino full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Penn National Gaming is a great parent company to work for.

Cons

Pay is not based on performance. A ton of favoritism. If you are liked because of your personality, it doesn't matter if you do your job well.

Advice to Management

Stop focusing all of your attention on personality and appreciate the people who work hard and do a good job.

I worked at Hollywood Casino full-time

    Pros

Exciting working atmosphere, not afraid to put money into their properties

    Cons

Low pay, bad internal communication, poor management.

    Advice to Management

A successful company is built on successful employees. A happy worker will work diligently and with a positive attitude. Penn National Gaming bought out Harrahs St. Louis and ignored many of the business and customer relation tactics that allowed Harrahs to be a leader in the St. Louis market. Any transition will bring some growing pains, but this one was brutal. The company was quick to emphasize their wonderful core values for their employees and guests, but are struggling to live up to their promises.
