I worked at HomeStreet full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Growing organization taking a family owned bank that has been in the area for a long time into the future to remain current and attractive to local and west coast customers. Decent benefit package, competitive pay for industry, flexible schedules when needed. My management team were the best career mentors I have had to date. A majority of the people I worked with internally and externally were amazing, hard working, passionate, caring people who valued being on a team and meeting goals together.

    Cons

Some of the executives or key business managers that have been there for some time are disengaged or have a hard time keeping the values/processes that existed for years and slightly improving them or removing them for the greater good of the bank and the customers with out taking suggested change personally.

    Advice to Management

Outside of IT: Suggestions are not implications that the job done to date has been bad. Suggestions for improvement should be encouraged so that innovation is a value that is respected. That is what will help the bank stay around for years to come.
Inside of IT: The review process and mentoring relationship was extremely beneficial, continue that!

I worked at HomeStreet full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are some well trained and experienced loan officers

    Cons

Rude, angry women in management. No people skills. Expect employees to be robots.
