Pros

Highest pay for Home Care Providers in the Bay Area

Cons

Where should I begin??.. The training program is too long, boring, and the rules are ridiculous!! If you are late (even by 5-10 minutes) , miss a day, leave (even 5-10 minutes) early then they kick you out of the current training course and then you have to start the 2 week course completely over again! Even if you were on your last day of training, and let's say that you have an emergency, are I'll, etc. they have 0 empathy and will make you start all over again! They are extremely nice when you get hired and during training (sometimes) but once you actually start in the field, you are on your own! They DO NOT care about their employees NOR the clients! There is so much FAVORITISM that it's crazy!! You HAVE TO ONLY take Muni even if you have a car, and if you don't, then you will be fired on the spot! And if your supervisor doesn't really care for you, they will assign you cases that are on opposite sides of the city! I spent a majority of my days just traveling to and from my clients (and you DO NOT get paid for travel, even though they say you will)! Also be sure to keep very clear and concise records of the time/s you work including time, location, travel time/distance, client identity and have your client sign every single time that you are there, because Homebridge WILL try and short your pay!

Thank you for providing this information about your experience working as a caregiver. Given the information you provided, it seems like it has been a while since you worked at Homebridge. We want you to know that a lot has changed since you worked here. We have adapted our training courses to allow for flexibility. If you need to miss a day and are good about communicating as soon as possible, we allow for make ups without having to start over. We have also added job shadowing into the training so that new caregivers have an opportunity to see what fieldwork will be like. Caregivers still take MUNI and we DO PAY for all travel between clients. In fact, we have reorganized our caregivers into teams so that they work in regions where they don't have to travel as far between clients. Homebridge caregivers are union employees and protected by their Collective Bargaining Agreement which prevents us from ever firing someone on the spot. We apologize for the negative experience that you had and we would like to invite you to come back and give working for Homebridge another try.

Pros

Nice coworkers who genuinely care about clients and try to do good work under difficult conditions.

Cons

While the organization publicly promotes support for workers and the community, internally many employees experienced poor communication, lack of accountability, favoritism, and broken promises. Employee morale has significantly declined under the current CEO’s leadership, with many experienced staff feeling undervalued and concerns often going unresolved.
