Pros
- The company genuinely values work/life balance. I never had to work over 40 hours a week.
- A lot of cool clients (some of which provide significant discounts).
- Very flexible work environment. Half day Fridays in summer are a fantastic plus.
- Very good insurance and vacation for full-time employees.
Cons
- Raises for full-time employees are inconsistent and unpredictable, both in timing and amount. Meanwhile, some higher-ups enjoy showcasing their financial success, which is irritating for employees who make less than they know they could get paid elsewhere.
- Pay (depending on the role/when you join) is also a guessing game. Even the job applications don't list a pay range, instead saying "competitive salary -- based on experience".
- The company does not support growth for most employees, prioritizing external hires for senior roles while leaving existing team members stagnant. Leadership either says that growth is possible and you need to build up your skillset, or that they are "working on it" and "know it's an issue" while not making significant progress.
- Contractors are frequently hired to save on costs, many times leading to subpar work.
- Lots of employees don't stay for even a year, which isn't reassuring to clients.
