Pros

Work on very important products.

Moving towards having Engineering workforce outsourcing oversea's. Bennefits have slowly dimished since started working.

Advice to Management

Look at hidden cost of using overseas manufacturing and engineering.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

The work is challenging, the company is financially stable, this is a global company, and the company is among the leaders in the markets it serves. There are lots of opportunities to make a contribution. Management is making a concerted effort to improve work processes, to increase the focus on customers and on doing the right jobs in the right way. The company supports telecommuting and other accommodations for people who cannot (or prefer not to) work 8-5 five days a week.

    Cons

A lot of activities have been outsourced to India, such as software development. This limits job opportunities since some career paths are not available to people from North America or Europe. The company is large with a lot of overhead, and will never be a nimble, Silicon Valley startup. The global presence means that it is easy to work odd hours, such as early mornings or evenings. Certain jobs require a lot of travel. There are occasional rumors that Honeywell will sell all or part of ACS, which would likely result in major dislocations.

    Advice to Management

Communicate a clear vision of the products and services that Honeywell ACS will provide to the market, and the strategic vision for how ACS will be successful over the next five years.

"HTSI - a little bit of Honeywell, not much Technology, zero Solutions, but at least it's Incorporated."

    Doesn't Recommend
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Well, it's a paycheck. It will look good on your resume (unless the person reading your resume has ever worked for HTSI).

    Cons

    1. Management - too afraid of losing their jobs to stand up for their employees
    2. Upper Management - way too many level of bs
    3. HR Department - ineffective
    4. Co-workers - the old timers, anyway. They've been doing the same thing, the same way for 30+ years, and proud of it!
    5. Salaries, Bonuses, Insurance Coverage
    6. HTSI has a long history of placing people in positions different than initially described, promised, or within the employees' actual desires or skill set.
