I have been working at Honeywell full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Participation in manufacturing high tech, state of the art equipment, privileged to work with talented professionals.

    Cons

Only CEO seeing the bucks. Big, big bonus for him. Since Allied Signal came, company got very cheap, they don't buy any new test equipment unless they find a way to make the customer pay for it. Implemented a plan called 5S which "cleaned up" the factory but also got rid of all engineering supplies too. Impossible-to-meet schedules, which mgt. calls "challenging". Don't replace people who leave, others have to take on the work no matter how full one's plate already is. When one takes vacation, they end up giving half or more back with unpaid overtime the following week. Very, very heavy workload of no-value-added "process" means even more unpaid overtime req'd. Impending mass exodus from HI if/when economy improves.

    Advice to Management

Stop charging the customers, especially the U.S. Government, for overtime hours worked when the employees are working unpaid overtime. That is bad business. Constant 50-60 hour work weeks are going to kill your employees.
