    "A very large company that has forgotten how to be nimble as many of it's smaller competitors."

    I worked at Honeywell full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Local managers know what they are doing and are very familiar and helpful with most situations that an employee will encounter.

    Cons

    Upper level management has forgotten what made the smaller companies they have purchased successful enough to be acquired by Honeywell. Corporate leadership wants to force Honeywell culture onto people who were very successful before they were Honeywell employees. Also upper management micromanages local offices, slowing down or stopping any innovative thinking from those offices.

    Advice to Management

    Most of the companies you acquired because they were successful do not need the slow, often oppressive culture that pervades upper management. Let them do what they do best and don't get intheir way.

    I have been working at Honeywell full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    It's still employs some Americans.

    Cons

    * No pension plan anymore.
    * Reduced 401-K company match.
    * Much reduced health care plan.
    * Year upon year without salary increases.
    * Eliminated promotion system.
    * Human Resources simply another arm of management.
    * Poorly designed support systems (SAP/Teamcenter).
    * No radio policy making for LONG days.

    Advice to Management

    Stand up to upper management. All too often employees hear managers grumbling about changes or policies that are poorly thought out or do nothing but reduce effectiveness but are too afraid/docile to push back.
