I worked at Honeywell full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

The only normal behavior exhibited by my manager was on the day he interviewed me, and on the day that I was laid-off.

Cons

The benefits were expensive, the quality of the management team is scary. Poor large capital management decisions are made on a weekly basis. It is a revolving door for operators--they are treated like cattle. Inventory laden site with no real leadership.

Advice to Management

Egos need to be left at home.

I have been working at Honeywell full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

It's a stable job with some interesting work. Pay is okay, benefits okay. Investors love the company.

    Cons

Company is controlled by "bean counters". Promotions have been stagnant for years and an aging workforce makes the company top heavy, so young or semi-young employees have little, to no room to move up. This doesn't appear to be improving any time soon. Senior management is bent on using low cost regions despite knowledge gaps and letting core knowledge errod.
The rules and processes are out of control. A rule to hold the hand-rail when using the stairs is too far.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your workforce under 40 before they all leave. Let your engineers be engineers.

I have been working at Honeywell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Relaxed atmosphere during working. Working from home is allowed.

    Cons

Salary is below average, but this could be due to the economy. Promotions are based on length of employment, with little regard for the quality of work.
