I have been working at Honeywell full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Interesting technical challenges. Processes in place to enable products to be delivered on time/budget. Standard benefits and perks for a large company in today's market.

Cons

Old fashioned 1950's style feel to the company. Profits over people. Limited advancement opportunity. Offshore movement of engineering jobs continues as well as outsourcing. Rewards limited to only top management. Millions for executives, no raises for the workers.

Advice to Management

Share the wealth. Start doing business in the here and now. Give as much back to the employees as the company does to outside charity. Compensation based on performance.

I have been working at Honeywell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Honeywell is a publilcly held company that is currently experiencing a rise in stock value. Honeywell is an International powerhouse in several different industries.

    Cons

Honeywell is a large company that is slow to change.
Honeywell offers below average compensation compared to similar roles in the public sector. Honeywell's employee's benefit plan is more expensive to the employees than similar companies in the public sector.

    Advice to Management

Move your leaders around in the organization. This will keep leaders from squashing" A" talent in effort to protect their own job. This will also help leaders to become positive change agents and establish themselves as leaders of leaders vs survivalist. Additionally, the employees will benefit from being exposed to varying leadership viewpoints and best practices.

I have been working at Honeywell full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Engineering Managers are very helpful and are on your side.

    Cons

Program managers will bleed you dry to satisfy their customer and get their bonus - with only very small monetary rewards to you ($100 or $200 bonuses.) They expect you to meet deadlines no matter how many hours it takes on cost-plus, or somehow magically do more work for less money.

    Advice to Management

Give raises in place for performance, not just following set promotion schedules
