I worked at Honeywell full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

There are plenty of career advancement opportunities within Corporate or the four other business groups. There are also opportunities to work anywhere in the world due to large manafacturing base. Compensation and benefits are competetive.

Cons

The main challenge working in Corporate is to get buy-in and participation by the four business groups for enterprise initiatives.

"A company of creating proprietary processes that are useless in industry"

    Pros

It is nice to have a job to put food on the table, but search for another job quickly before your skills are obsolete.

    Cons

All processes are copied existing standards that are regurgitated in a more verbose style. Training on the original standards such as DO-178B would be much better than creating internal standards that map to the original. Internal training is very poor. Working here is a good springboard to find another job, but find another job quickly before the skills are obsolete. This organization does not understand that 3rd party certification and training is much better than their internal training. Also this company suffers from a high degree of nepotism.

    Advice to Management

Send all employees to outside experts for training. Do not waste resources on internal training. It is tainted and the internal trainers are not qualified.

I worked at Honeywell as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Stability in the UOP section.

    Cons

Continuous improvement process - always looking for things to improve even though there might not be any.

    Advice to Management

Try not to micromanage so much.
