Neutral Outlook
No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Honeywell full-time

Pros

Pay is competitive for my band scale
Retirement pension is rare in today's industry. Honeywell is one of the few
401k matching is excellent especially after 3 years

Cons

HOS is bulky and slows everything down with over analysis of the basics
Production Driven instead of people driven
very little to now progression or pay raises.

Advice to Management

Management needs to learn to balance the workforce progression with longevity. HOS is not always the answer! Common sense should be the first rule of thumb.

    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Honeywell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Variable Hours - Can usually set your own schedule. Early, late, normal, etc.
No Dress Code - wear what you want (with exception)
Very Little Micromanagement - freedom to tackle work how you do it best

    Cons

Tribal Knowledge - Nothing is written down; everything is taught (or not) by someone with experience on the project. Things are the way they are "just because" without hope for change or improvement
No Engineering - Hired as an engineer, have not performed any engineering
No Recognition - Working overtime becomes the norm, not the exception. No overtime pay
No Raises or Promotions - Frequent cutbacks to benefits while Honeywell brags about how much profit they make. No raises for 2 years with taxes increasing means take-home pay has gone down
Disorganization - no training, no mentorship, trial by fire

    Advice to Management

Stop bottlenecking - Large group of people in my department with a small group of them that are overworked while many are looking for tasks. Those with the knowledge are always in meetings and too busy to show other people how things work.
Organize - Nothing is intuitive and almost everything is Tribal Knowledge. This kind of environment does not bode well for change and improvement. The mandatory training is largely useless while the things that need training have none
Recognize Work - If people go above and beyond, that isn't their norm, it is an exception.
Share the Wealth - Don't complain about how little of a bonus you get this year when nobody is awarded a raise
