    Doesn't Recommend

I worked at Horace Mann School full-time

    Pros

Resources are plentiful although they are not necessarily allocated properly.

    Cons

No opportunity for advancement if you do not fit their perfect profile. No room for creativity. No room for individuality.

Office politics was worse here than anywhere I've ever worked. It was more like being in high school than a professional. Even where and who you sat with at lunch was an issue. Cliques everywhere. I'd say choose your friends wisely, but everyone talks about everyone in that place. I could go on and on...

Budgets were not disclosed to teachers at all so there was no reasonable way to go about spending money. If you spent money that was deemed 'too much' you were chastised, but without knowing the budget for the year/semester/quarter, how are you supposed to judge how much 'too much' is?

    Advice to Management

Spend more time recognizing individual teachers that are working hard (privately would be nice, just to say that they are doing a good job).
