Doesn't Recommend
Disapproves of CEO

Pros

great pay, fun people, great work environment (on the water), very nice employee discount, prime location, customers are fun to talk to

Cons

disrespect from managers, multiple issues with paychecks, bare minimum hours, pooled tips, unreasonable expectations for number of staff working, no training

Advice to Management

Resolve all your paycheck issues, don't treat your employees like crap, assign work tasks to those who can physically handle them accordingly.

I worked at Hornblower Cruises and Events as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The marketing and design teams and management that I worked with were refreshingly detail oriented but relaxed when the chips aren't down. They pride themselves on good work, good communication, and having fun when the job is done. Everyone really makes an effort to help each other out in whatever ways they can or to just ask you how your day is going. You are expected to perform and put in effort, otherwise you might not survive the pace of progress everyone wants to make. Everyone is there to drive results in their own way and when they have time, to brainstorm on new innovative ways to do the job better. Work hard, play hard.

    Cons

Not much that than the limited office space and constant shifting of your work station but that might have changed since I've been there.

I worked at Hornblower Cruises and Events part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible schedule
    Great co-workers
    Wonderful working location
The discounts that come with being an employee are pretty stellar as well.

    Cons

Bosses were weird and standoffish. I once had a manager email me while sitting right next to me instead of speaking with me about an issue. Also, no access to parking made it tough.

    Advice to Management

Be more vocal with staff and a little team building would go a long way.
