      Pros

      Cons

Underpaid High expectations Low hours Inconsistent schedule Schedule done on short notice Upper management doesn't always understand in-store problems-- too far removed.

          Pros

Flexible Hours, Great Discount Fun coworkers, made some great friends that have turned out to be my best friends

          Cons

Also had some horrible experiences with other management. Harassment and being overworked by the FT SM, but this was specific to our store and this store rotated SM’s like it was crazy. Customer base to this area was also a little wild. Had fist fights in the stores over things like pops and loungeflys. Customers would verbally assault us during the height of the pandemic over masking policies. Due to the discount, most of your paycheck will likely go right back to the company with how little you get paid! You will get paid minimum wage, and then when you eventually crawl your way into lower management, you’ll make pennies above minimum wage. You’ll feel compelled to devote yourself to the company for some reason because of the push for company culture and your former interest in the store before becoming an employee. By the time you learn all the dirt on the company and get overworked on the horrible concrete floors, you’ll eventually not only hate yourself but the store! But hey! At least the discount is nice! And did you know that you’ve been pre approved for a hot topic credit card!

Do you have general tips on how to respond if in an interview I’m told that I’m overqualified for the job (skill wise and salary wise) ?

        Property Manager

As a leasing agent for two years, I then worked my way to assistant manager for t 11 months. Then, to a property manager position, nine months into my new role as manager, I was terminated, with no warning, completely unexpected. How do I explain this undeserving action and embarrassment in an upcoming interview without any risk in the decision-making of my employment with the company I am interested in? I hope I am relaying this in a way that is understood.
