I worked at House of Blues part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Laid back type of restaurant, quantity of customers, free Disneyland pass. Sometimes you get to attend free concerts.

    Cons

The managmement and the corporate figures could care less about you. The employee, and the manager, are absolutely replaceable. They do not take into account how long you have worked there or how much you contribute to the company. If you spend years doing great, it is not acknowledged. Mess up once, its documented forever.

The company values were great when it was owned by the creator of The House of Blues. In the past 5 years, Live Nation bought the restaurant and turned it into a pit of depression.

Don't try to get benefits either. There aren't any.

    Advice to Management

Start hiring your managers from within, instead of managers that do not know how this restaurant runs. Take lesson from Costco and treat your staff with respect. Realize that they are important to your business and the success will follow. Happy staff equals happy customers.
