No opinion of CEO

Pros

Good place to work if you are female or a minority. Good job security. Good benefits. Good work environment. All equipment is well maintained and replaced on a scheduled basis.

Cons

Pay somewhat less than in corporate sector. Upper management positions are often filled from outside sources rather than from internal promotions.

Advice to Management

Encourage more cross training and internal promotions. Reconsider expanding service via "commuter rail" instead of "light rail" option.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

you have a job and it has days off like most other companies but it could use more vacation days for more tenured people. the insurance benefits are pretty standard but that is not so bad.

    Cons

everyone thinks you drive a bus for a living. there should be other opportunities in training and development for all of the departments. right now there is not a lot of development of your skills other than driving. which might be why everyone thinks you just drive a bus! some of the supervisors should not be managers at all and were not properly trained

    Advice to Management

look for more educated people to hire and have regular pay increases. it would be good to offer more education incentives as well.

I have been working at Houston Metro full-time

    Pros

You get to ride the trains and buses for free. You also get to interact with members of the public.

    Cons

Sometimes you have to answer questions from strangers on how to get to various places within the system on the bus or on the train.

    Advice to Management

Management should really focus on promoting from within. This would improve employee relations and morale. This would encourage more employees to try harder.
