Call center work that is better than retail but still not great
PharmacistFormer Employee, more than 3 yearsPros
Nice coworkers Actually spent some time on training compared to retail chains Part-time schedules available Remote work Not a frankly abusive work environment like retail Only have to manage 1 call at a time I liked participating in the Go365 program
Cons
Metrics, metrics, metrics - mostly just care about how fast you can do a call, even though they also claim to value call quality. Constant monitoring and ranking of call times is very stressful, esp since so much of the call is not within your control. Manage you like a call center employee at Hulu or Netflix, even though you have a doctorate degree Overly strict, ridiculous attendance policies that don’t reflect that you are a human who may get sick and have family responsibilities - only allowed 3 absences in a rolling 6-month period. After promising more flexible policies during Covid, company made attendance policies even stricter. No raises over all of the years I worked for them - underpaid Many coworkers complained about getting vacation requests denied, even when requested months ahead of time Managed very similarly to retail. Company also takes advantage of RPh’s (esp in terms of compensation) because they know so many are desperate to get out of retail.
