    I worked at Hy-Vee part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice people, store is clean and accessible

    Cons

No guarantee with hours or days worked, would train you for a job and not let you get any hands on experience, management would not listen to requests for availabilities or time off and would schedule you on days that you told them up front that you could not work

    Advice to Management

Please listen to your employees when they ask for time off or when they give you their available hours. And don't train someone for a job unless you plan on letting them do that job.

    I worked at Hy-Vee part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours. They are willing to work around your schedule and let you work approximately as many hours as you are able to. Good for students. Pays decent for a part-time, flexible job.

    Cons

Very monotonous. Sometimes must deal with difficult customers. Career advancement path is not great and if you look to become an assistant manager you will be working a lot of bad hours and every weekend.

    Advice to Management

Higher pay and more advancement opportunities.
