I worked at Hyatt full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Excellent brand that looks good on the resume, leader in the industry, partial tuition reimbursement after 2 years, pay above average, decent benefits.

Cons

Micromanaged boxed-up people with unhealthy sense of competition and inflated egos. You can work there if you can tolerate grade-school disciplinary approach and good at scheming. You will get a boot if you have a slightest inclination to pioneering. Once my director advised me (nice guy but no back bone): "your good work makes others look bad, consider changing or you will suffer consequences".

Advice to Management

Uncrate your thinking and loose the divas. Get down to the common folk.

I have been working at Hyatt full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The Hyatt has great travel benefits, incredible management, and endless growth opportunities for dedicated employees. Travel worldwide for pleasure or employment opportunities.

    Cons

The Hyatt Regency has long hours as any 24 hour operation would. Working night holidays and weekends is what should be expected when working in the industry.

I worked at Hyatt as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

What I liked about the internship was the staff - most of them were affable and taught me a lot about food. And the hours for breaks were flexible.

    Cons

The Sous Chef was a bit too much of a perfectionist sometimes, but she understood that I have Autism. And sometimes the bathrooms need room for improvement.

    Advice to Management

Keep knowing the needs of workers with disabilities! And of course, raise the wage a bit.
