I worked at Hyatt full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Good upper leadership and company values. Good stepping stone for moving into other careers.

Cons

It is nearly impossible to strike a stable work-life balance. Much of your life will be demanded at work. Lower and middle management have no sense of calm under stressing circumstances. They tend to panic and as a result lash out at the "Rank-&-File" employees, often in full view of customers.

I have been working at Hyatt full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits are ok, especially the 12 free rooms around the world per year.
Good hourly rates. Great tuition reimbursement.

    Cons

Work-life balance is a foreign concept for Hyatt. There is little or non-existent room for growth even if you seek out the opportunities and follow the right channels. The do not strive to help their workers improve themselves. Conflict-resolution mechanisms are not in place.

    Advice to Management

Please listen to your employees and follow up if someone brings an important issue to your attention. I believe in Hyatt's mission but it is not enforced in the day to day practices.

I have been working at Hyatt part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The Spa staff is so knowledgeable, so eager to help everyone. I feel valued and respected. I pinch myself every day when I go to work, I love working here.

    Cons

    Nothing I can think of . . .

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing.
