I worked at IBM as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

IBM is a really great place to work in terms of the quality of the work environment; IBM puts great emphasis on the employees or the 'IBMers'. There are also a great deal of resources and a vast amount of information available. It is definitely an interesting work experience. The company is doing very well; it is growing fast and focused in a market that is the aligned with the general direction of the technology industry as a whole.

    Cons

The company is really big, and this may be a downside for some. The individual contributions of employees can never be really significant, even for senior developers. As with other large companies, there is a great deal of bureaucracy at IBM, and the long corporate ladder that stands in the path of career progression may not be very appealing.

    Advice to Management

Management at IBM seemed to be very efficient, and the only suggestion is a greater emphasis and focus on improving and making more efficient the current practices for software development and the various procedures and infrastructures in place that support this initiative as a whole.

I worked at IBM full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

IBM Global Business services is an equal opportunity employer, and employees get chances to work in different roles over different functional groups in the oganisation. This provides good learning and exposure.

    Cons

IBM Global Business services being a large company, employees need to work hard to get identified.

    Advice to Management

Management is better equipped to know the operations.
