I have been working at IBM full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Incredibly dynamic and engaging organization given it's size (we're not talking startup here). Opportunities for career development are abound and there is a lot of flexibility if you are willing to step up and drive your career.

    Cons

IBM has been a bit too focused on cost cutting which is hurting employees - salary raises, 401k contributions, IT equipment, etc. Most of those can be overcome with the right attitude and if you're a high performer you will still get the recognition (financially) that you deserve.

    Advice to Management

Think twice about the effects of cost cutting. Not getting a new laptop, 401k contributions shifting to year and and vital intranet services being down too often will eventually take their toll on productivity.
