Pros

Wide range of opportunities and projects, good personal support and good knowledge management. Training is stil quite good, with regular online and classroom training. IBM has so far avoided wholesale redundancies, although there have been very quiet offers made to selected staff.

Cons

Business controls are complex and bureaucracy is stifling. Recently the management has implemented new policies on pensions that have upset a large proportion of the staff. Salary increases have been virtually non-existent for the past couple of years and bonuses have been poor even for top performers.

Advice to Management

Relearn that the commitment of staff is important to the success of the business and stop alienating them.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

    looks great on resume
    great brand name
flexible work hours for some people in some roles
your girlfriends parents will be impressed (but she likely won't be)

    Cons

    pay is poor, below market
    the red tape is ridiculous
every decision takes 10 reviewers & 20 approvers + Finance & HR to review it all again

    Advice to Management

Don't try to fool staff, try instead to clearly explain what the strategy is in real language, not MBA in Marketing speak. Resist the urge to outsource everything - instead try investing in the people you have here. If there are no jobs at home there will be no demand for what IBM sells.

    Pros

Provides way to interact with best minds. Career development mentors help you a lot specially when your a fresher. women employees enjoy extra benefits.

    Cons

Working in a big company made me feel lost in the pool after few months. Sometimes work from home option is taken too lightly by employees.

    Advice to Management

Please have means to recognize talented employees. Not everyone is being given due recognition. Managers are being biased to employees.
