I have been working at IBM full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Still some very bright and talented people left.
Have flexibility in setting work hours as long as salaried workers do 20% overtime.

Cons

Teammates are now considered competition due to regular layoffs.
Managers will tell you that upper management doesn't care about us.
Little risk taking or attempts at improving things because most think it is fruitless.

Advice to Management

Hire managers that have actually done the work of the people they are "managing " and give them the autonomy to do what's right, not what saves shareholders $.02 per quarter. Reviewing pipeline spreadsheets is not managing. Return to investing in employees instead of buying and selling them.

I have been working at IBM full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Salary and vacation are good. Work/life balance fine as long as you realize you don't get rewarded for working extra hours or penalized for just putting in 40

    Cons

Corporate is doing everything they can to alienate top talent. Over the past several years they've taken away raises for top performers, reduced bonuses, taken away the pension, changed 401k plan and employee stock purchase plan, cancelled most company outings/lunches, reduced site maintenance including trash pick up, taken away office supplies, and gotten rid of the free water

    Advice to Management

Senior management is doing a great job of making themselves rich
