Pros

Engineers & Tech Support Peers were diverse in skills and personalities. The many differing experiences and exposures are well worth adding this company to your resume'.

Cons

Organizational leadership seemed to ignore advice/concerns from the "foot soldiers" who were closest to the problems. Being a global organization blocks some ability to provide top notch customer support that you might find in a small to medium sized business.

Advice to Management

You must demonstrate that you are taking action upon some of the feedback that is received from your "front line" individuals.

    Pros

I learned a lot and met a lot of great people.

    Cons

You can get disillusioned by being just a number in a company so vast.

    Advice to Management

Truly care about the lives and careers of your people working for you.

I have been working at IBM full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

You're set up to succeed by tapping into an *extensive* base of resources and experts happy to share knowledge. People want to get the job done without overly much politics. Decent work/life balance.

    Cons

Incessant cost cutting limiting growth opportunities. We can't even buy tech supplies. If you need a mouse, buy it yourself.

    Advice to Management

"Competitive salaries" is now recognized as a euphemism for "mediocre salaries." To be competitive, you should have a larger portion of the salaries actually *above* market reference.
