I have been working at ICF full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Work/life balance is good - rarely work over 40 hours in a week; sometimes can telecommute (though doing this too often will be discouraged); spotify works in the office - thank god or I'd go insane

Cons

This place is straight out of Office Space. Pay is below competitors (especially relative to the company size); management doesn't care about training the junior staff, or giving them opportunities to grow -- all that's important is the "bottom line," i.e. how billable you are for the company.

Also, zero workplace atmosphere - no one eats together, there are no inter-office celebrations of any kind (and when they do happen they are forced, because everyone just wants to get back to their desk and finish billing their hours).

Basically, you won't be challenged here and all people care about is whether you're making money for ICF. It makes people totally complacent and they start to coast, which overall HAS to be a bad business model...how have they not caught onto this yet?!

Advice to Management

Invest in your staff members' training and morale - it will directly translate into more productive, happy, BILLABLE workers!
